Duravent chimney kit for woodburning stove. This pieces center fits perfectly around the triple wall chimney pipe for the roof and the square outer part is slightly larger than the ceiling box that penetrates through ceiling and roof. This is referenced nowhere in the super detailed instructions. It is not the flashing or the storm collar already have both those.

Is it maybe a transition piece? Like for looks, so it's not just a tube in a box.

It looks like some of the kits have an attic insulation shield included in them. They seem to be included for chimneys being run through a roof/ceiling. Is that possibly it?

It’s called ‘flashing’ and is meant to keep the weather out.

I think this would go right above the stove to give a wide opening for the chimney to collect fumes from the stove
