[...] Parcelforce texted the delivery slot. No delivery. Parcelforce and HP’s tracking systems then claimed I had refused the parcel. I scheduled a redelivery for the next day. Parcelforce then rang me and the agent acknowledged a delivery had not been attempted and that the tracking information was false. It claimed HP had requested that the parcel be returned to sender.

Of course i'm not saying internet users have to use it. Or that it has to completely replace Youtube or other streaming services in its complete entirety.

Here is why internet users should start using Peertube, no matter how much or less they use it than Youtube. Simply letting them know it exists is key.

Peertube is essentially an interface with a varying amount of instances hosted by volunteers that all build up the bigger Peertube federated service with all the videos. Unlike alternatives this makes it more likely to be around long term.

it has the highest chance of other video user generated content services being around for years to come due to being federated. If Youtube shuts down good bye to alot of that years worth of content. If a peertube instance closes down only a smaller portion of videos would be lost, but that doesn't close down the entire program because all the other instances in theory would still be feferated.

It's open source meaning less chance of seeing ads on or by videos when not using an ad blocker. Donations are always encouraged to help fund the servers. But not required.

Summary:

  1. longer lasting due to being federated even while making less profits.

  2. Peertube is open source.

  3. Donations are welcome but not required just to use the services usually.

Ahead of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s four days in exile, several staff researchers wrote a letter to the board of directors warning of a powerful artificial intelligence discovery that they said could threaten humanity, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

After being contacted by Reuters, OpenAI, which declined to comment, acknowledged in an internal message to staffers a project called Q* and a letter to the board before the weekend's events, one of the people said. An OpenAI spokesperson said that the message, sent by long-time executive Mira Murati, alerted staff to certain media stories without commenting on their accuracy.

Some at OpenAI believe Q* (pronounced Q-Star) could be a breakthrough in the startup's search for what's known as artificial general intelligence (AGI), one of the people told Reuters. OpenAI defines AGI as autonomous systems that surpass humans in most economically valuable tasks.

Given vast computing resources, the new model was able to solve certain mathematical problems, the person said on condition of anonymity because the individual was not authorized to speak on behalf of the company. Though only performing math on the level of grade-school students, acing such tests made researchers very optimistic about Q*’s future success, the source said.

Reuters could not independently verify the capabilities of Q* claimed by the researchers.

Elon Musk's social media company X filed a lawsuit against Media Matters for America on Monday, saying it manufactured a report to show advertisers' posts alongside neo-Nazi and white nationalist posts in order to drive advertisers from the platform and destroy X Corp.

In response, Media Matters claims that the lawsuit is frivolous and aimed at silencing critics of X.

Ironically, a news report this morning revealed that Media Matters is a censorship organization funded by George Soros and others who oppose Western civilization. The organization is said to be designed to suppress certain views.

While these big companies are stuck in profit-driven conflicts, the commitment to protecting freedom of speech and privacy seems to have been completely forgotten. Now, the truth is treated as the new hate speech.

This delay isn't exclusive to Firefox, it's in any browser where a user has enabled adblockers including in Chrome. Disable the adblocker and this delay magically go away. This was done on purpose.
