Full trade, per sources:
To #NHLBruins: Rights to RFAs Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula.
To #Blackhawks: Taylor Hall, rights to UFA Nick Foligno.

No salary retained by Boston, this represents a pure salary dump to clear $6 million off Bruins' books.

By the CBA, DeAngelo cannot return to Carolina within a year of his trade from the Canes, especially when salary is retained. The two teams are set to discuss with the league in Nashville, who could either sign off on the trade or force both teams to wait until July 9th.

It's unclear whether the trade will still go through if the Flyers and the Canes are forced to wait.

Flames update: CGY recently made a big pitch, rolled out the red carpet ($) to try to re-sign C Elias Lindholm.

CGY is waiting on a response from Lindholm and haven't been given definitive answer yet. But general league speculation is he's leaning toward not re-signing w/ CGY.

With NHL free agency on the horizon, it's believed the 2023-24 salary cap ceiling will be set at $83.5M -- an indication the NHL and NHLPA won't negotiate a higher increase than the $1M called for in their MOU.

Is there anyway we can get some bots to pull in Twitter posts from some of the key NHL rumor mongers? I don’t venture into the twitterverse but I like to keep up to date with talk around the league.

I feel like a bit aggregator could bring in more liveliness to this community. Not enough things to talk about on our own.

I’ve heard Blake Wheeler’s days in Winnipeg are numbered. Still a chance he moves but most likely option is a buyout.

According to @CapFriendly his $8.25 million cap hit would be $2.75 million for two seasons.

So disappointing! We finally made it to a few playoff games last season and they were a lot of fun to watch.

Noticed a distinct lack of a community for the Bolts, so I went ahead and created one at tampabaylightning@lemmy.world. It got me thinking about other team communities, so I thought it might be helpful to aggregate them all into one post.

List of Team-Specific Communities:

NOTE: If a community appears as a 404 page when you click it, it likely means that the community is being hosted outside of the instance you are currently using and that nobody in your instance has viewed or interacted with that specific community yet. In order to address this, you will need to copy-paste the specific handle for the community (for example, [!tampabaylightning@lemmy.world](/c/tampabaylightning@lemmy.world)) into your searchbar so that your instance can "learn" that it exists, after which the community should display via linked URLs without issue. Hopefully this is addressed by the lemmy devs and streamlined in the near future.

EDIT 6/21: And we now have all teams represented! Starting to feel like home around here. I'll do some work soon to get all these organized in a nice table for easy navigation.
