But RIP stands for “Rest In Peace”. So “RIP in peace” means, literally, “rest in peace in peace”.

The nonsensical bit has nothing to do with RIF.

The app used to be called Reddit is Fun. RIF. Reddit got pissy when they published their own shit app and told talklittle to change the name to not include "Reddit". So talklittle changed the name to RIF is Fun. Reddit is fun, is fun. Rest in peace, in peace. It has everything to do with RIF.
