It's because they lack material analysis, but that doesn't change the contradictions within the system. Since they actively reject communism, they do the opposite of what we would do to solve those contradictions. Then that still doesn't fix anything, so they move on to the next solution. Rinse and repeat, and it's a race to the bottom. It turns into a death spiral.

One example is housing. The contradiction is how homes are cheap, in high supply, are vacant, and yet there are homeless people. The solution would be to give those people the empty homes, but capitalists who own those properties would lose money.

So they come up with a plethora of solutions, like building even more homes (that will also be empty), imprisoning or murdering the homeless, deliberate gentrification, etc. The problem still isn't fixed and is made worse by what capitalists decide upon, except now homeless people are getting more militant due to police harassment, working full time, and so on. The capitalists end up hurting themselves because a bubble is created, which will eventually pop.
