Dems: literally do nothing except not make things even worse

Liberals: "they finally show some spine!"

[-] Mambert@beehaw.org 7 points 1 month ago

I heard for months before the election: "republicans have a plan this time! There's no barriers this time!"

I keep hearing now: "why aren't democrats doing anything?"

What can they do? What policy can they enact as a minority in the house or senate to stop EOs?

They could call for civil disobedience. They could maybe act like there is an attempt at a fascist takeover of government instead of prioritizing being nice and polite.

There are some democrat politicians that are sort of begging to take things seriously, such as AOC. But if the party itself doesn't get its shit together, they'll be remembered in history like the Weimar Republic.

Unfortunately they can't just acknowledge the fascism that is taking over. Because all the right has to do is redefine fascism and suddenly all the democrats look so hysterical because "it's not like he had the mustache anyway, it's not fascism."

If you let your opponent define the very words you use, you already lost

The opponents are idiots that don't know how to read Wikipedia. "I don't use pronouns" level of experts on the English language, biology, economics, and history.

I can keep using the correct definition for fascism and accurately describe this administration. But the opponents are the same people that gathered in Dallas waiting for the long dead RFK to arrive and announce Donald Trump as the true president in 2021. They live in their own world with their own language and their own statistics and their own scientists and their vote counts more than mine.
