I'm down, anyone have a great list with images I can use so I know which groceries to avoid?

Pretty sure Brave is American.

It's also sketchy.

Bluesky is also an American platform.

Yeah, there's a couple of issues with this graph.

Should have listed at least a Firefox fork instead, especially with the recent change in the ToS.

ReVanced is just youtube though...

Thanks! I should have been more specific, I was thinking more in the groceries department.

I use the 'No Thanks' app, but only as a starting point to then confirm if what they say it's true. I don't like that it's closed source, but at least it's an option. Also, I should note that some brands are ethical in some countries or states, but not globally, so you should check local resources for better results 🧐

The only one here I use on the left is YouTube, and I specifically pirate their videos to host over LAN.

You can block ads too so they don't make money.

I use AdNauseam to click all of them instead.

That is cool. Thanks for sharing.

With the exception of nextcloud and firefox, those are all crap.

[-] AlligatorBlizzard@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah, that Lemmy thing is extremely crap.

[-] viking@infosec.pub 1 points 1 month ago

It's not terrible, but not a proper substitute. All the niche communities are very much dead. On the other hand you have an overload of leftist politics, linux, and gaming. Nothing inherently wrong with those either, but I'm missing a fair balance.

Here's one with images (not 100% US specific):
