People online being surprised that there are countless people that really like avatar is weird. Like ~400 million people have seen the orginal by now and it was mostly very well recieved and one of the best theater experience a lot of them had, especially during its initial release where it broke the box office. Its one of the most popular blockbusters ever in almost every country outside of America .
Its just that most people that like it arent terminaly online and in anglo internet spaces that meme and post "takes" about movies or entertainment and participate in "discourse". They are mostly normal 35+ year old people living their lives around the globe that really liked the first movie , didnt think about it more than 10 times since and now went out to watch the sequel and really like it as well
Also its a amazing looking and well paced action drama blockbuster by james cameron. Of course its loved by dozens of million , its not that weird. AT least it has non bad politics
Nah those millions of people clearly listened to that one Chapo episode
