You want them to somehow stop him from playing their game?

[-] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

If anything, musk getting bullied is great PR. where else can you have a direct line to a billionaire and talk shit? Only on PoE. Buy it today!

[-] Geetnerd@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

It does with me. A lot.

Fuck him.

[-] Draces@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

You must know that's not how that works right? You want them to prevent him from buying the game... Somehow? And since they're not doing this weird impossible thing they're on your shit list? This is definitely one of the dumbest things I've heard here

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Dude broke the TOS by buying accounts. Cut and dry.

[-] Draces@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Why make the same comment twice? This one doesn't even make sense for the post you responded to

Doesn't it require a connection to their servers to play?

[-] Draces@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

There is an eula that I'm sure doesn't cover "not being Elon Musk" and they do not id their users so even if they banned the richest man's one account I'm betting he could afford another. To expect the game devs to do anything about him is beyond absurd

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

I dunno. If I had a game, I'd put "no billionaires" in the Eula. There's way worse stuff in most eulas anyway.

But it probably covers buying and selling accounts

[-] Draces@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Fair, they should ban accounts that they have verified he bought, is this one he's streaming with the same one?

And again:

they do not id their users so even if they banned the richest man’s one account I’m betting he could afford another

[-] Endymion_Mallorn@kbin.melroy.org -2 points 1 year ago

Given how little he cares about laws, contracts, and judgments, why try to be better than him?

[-] Draces@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Because it's not about how good or bad you are when the problem is practicality?

[-] Geetnerd@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

They can.

By shunning, and shaming him.

Ostracization, or for the dumb "Cancelling," has worked since Ancient Greece, and longer.

[-] Draces@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

They ~~can~~can't.

By shunning, and shaming him.

Ostracization, or for the dumb “Cancelling,” has worked since Ancient Greece, and longer.

Ftfy. The community can, and according to this post is doing a good job of it (which I'm happy about). But the game devs can't anymore than you can. Should I be angry at you for not being in that stream ostracizing him?

[-] andros_rex@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Do their terms and services not have policies about buying accounts? Like, I’m pretty sure if he did the same in OSRS, that would be bannable.
