yeah, so what? who says that this wouldn't lead to less gay people?
remember "don't ask, don't tell?" that basically meant that officially, 0% of men in the military were gay. obviously there were way more than 0% gays in the military. i don't think it is a "dumb take" to say there weren't necessarily less gays back then, because we know for a fact that there were way more gays than what was reflected in stastistics.
i am certain that there are studies on this, too.

If you aren't going to even attempt to point at something that even comes close to backing up your claim then you're going to be very disappointed with the amount of people who take you seriously.
