2014 GMC Savanah keep backup camera on all the time

Not a bad idea, I have a cargo van with blocked out rear windows and my back-up camera set to display 24/7 while driving, I find it helpful.
Like the other poster mentioned, I wired to power as opposed to the back up light so it would come on when I press a button rather than when I set it into reverse - but it was an aftermarket camera I installed and not a factory camera.
You may want to see if anyone on a Chevy/GMC truck forum has had luck with the rewiring if it’s factory.

Yeah, it looks like I might need to actually make a forum account and ask. There are posts all over the place talking about doing this with newer imfotainment system equipped trucks/vans but none that I can find for the mirror display.
Also see my other comment about the manual hinting at thermal issues with the camera running too long. It's starting to look like the idea is a no go on this particular van.
