Not to quibble but it's not just "were treated". If you want to be killed by a cop, it helps to be First Nations.
I had a couple encounters with a guy. Very sweet but clearly had a drinking problem. He was First Nations. He was locally famous for carving wood totems for people. He was the most harmless drunk indian... he always had a smile for me
