Not a fan of it by any means, but it shit down ~11 days ago and no one mentioned it.

Every link to something on the instance redirects to this: https://imgur.com/XpxDJTg

Since lemmy posts are links, every image post is now that image.

The admin (local account on lemm.ee https://lemm.ee/u/hamid@vegantheoryclub.org ) said it was because of the harassment culture on lemmy (https://lemm.ee/post/64686772 ), and blamed sunshine and beaver for doing something? (https://lemm.ee/post/63664605/20610349 -- the post this is in reply to is gone, but the comment is in the local copy of the person's profile.)

Anyone know what happened?

  1. Makes deliberately inflammatory comment to make a point
  2. People are mildly rude in response to the inflammatory comment
  3. HOW DARE YOU, I'M LITERALLY CRYING, I'M GOING HOME FOREVER

1 is fine. 2 is fine. That's how things work. I have no idea, though, how someone who reacts with 3 expects to be able to manage ordinary day-to-day life. Let alone weigh in on a situation of death and destruction and geopolitical crime against humanity. Like, if this is your bar for what makes you quit, your movement is going to be pretty fucking easy for the establishment to destroy.

I'm not saying that everyone needs to toughen up and put up with whatever treatment they receive. I'm just saying that, in particular since it looks like the #2 response was actually quite a bit milder than the #1 inflammatory original post, the DARVO reaction featured in #3 seems kind of needlessly extra.

One fine example of such:

I looked up the context because I was kind of curious, and I really remembered why I don't go to those places on the federated internet anymore.

Well, partly because I am banned, but also because it is a hostile waste of time. They are both valid reasons I guess lol.

Rules

  1. Any drama must be posted as an observer, you cannot post drama that you are involved with.
  2. When posting screenshots of drama, you must obscure the identity of all the participants.

Chronicle the life and tale of the fediverse (+ matrix)

Largely a sublemmy about capturing drama, from fediverse spanning drama to just lemmy drama.

Includes lore like how a instance got it's name, how an instance got defederated, how an admin got doxxed, fedihistory etc

(New) This sub's intentions is to an archive/newspaper, as in preferably don't get into fights with each other or the ppl featured in the drama
