Whatever it was, I once legitimately felt a presence in a dark room with me and I was at a point in life where I was having none of that shit. So I just yelled into the dark to shut the fuck up and I never felt that presence ever again.
I'm picturing a ghost realtor being super frustrated over not being able to get out from under this one unit because it's haunted by an angry human who occasionally haunts the residents by yelling obscenities at them
some of the superstitious do believe that if you felt disturbed that's one way to be rid of them. zero shits given and tell wm to fuck off.
I kind of want to know how that works psychologically tbh.
Oo I can answer this one!
It's kind of like the placebo effect, in which believing that it will work makes it work. Anxiety/fear/etc are self-perpetuating systems- the behaviors (e.g., avoidance, hypervigilance), feeling in your body (heart rate, muscle tension), and thoughts (e.g., "I'm not safe") all reinforce one another, and breaking one part of that chain can make the whole system collapse.
