Bluesky had some controversy when it first came out. Now that it's been around for a while, I'm curious what the consensus is. How does it compare to Mastodon? Is Bluesky now self-hostable and compatible with the Fediverse?

Mrs. Erinaceus loves it, after fleeing Xwitter and being disappointed with Mastodon. However, in this Wired article/interview (which I read some time ago and might not remember all that well), Bluesky's CEO comes across as being, well, a CEO.
