I mean, asking for others opinions is a pretty normal and social behavioral thing to do... No?

Things I like I find others tend not to, so if I'm making something to appeal to others and not myself, I ask what they like.

Ofc this example of a picture hung over a stove is.... Asinine, but my point still stands in response to your statement.

Yes, asking for people's thoughts on things is normal. It is not asking for others to think for you. They're too caught up on the wording.
