I'm a fan of acrescent but something about nearly $6000 in monthly costs doesn't smell right.
They need $5800/month in recurring donations to fund a full time developer to be working on Accrescent, implementing new features, creating new tooling, etc. The blog post clearly says this.
Yeah thanks I can read. It is not clear at all.
An example is that it says "to fund full-time development", and you've assumed thats a "full-time developer."
What are we talking here - is it a salary for someone? Overheads? Marketing? Hosting etc? What will donations give us? Is there a roadmap? If anything, the store needs more apps. A slick new frontend is pretty far down my list of wants.
And before you come back with another spikey comment remember that I'm saying this as a fan of Acrescent. I'm not suggesting there's anything nefarious going on. If they are were asking VC's for cash this is the information they'd be expected to provide.
