This community usually discusses consumer rights, but nobody is discussing this initiative. Is it maybe cuz Lemmy's majority ain't American?
Maybe just delete your youtube account? I've never even had a youtube account at all and I'm a heavy youtube consumer...
hmm, I'm only starting a discussion to enjoy and farm karma tbh, but you surprised me. In my experience, only normie stuff, political propaganda (chad Trump, Putin or my country's governor) or women in little to no clothing constitute the whole of your recommendation if you don't use an account. Even on new phone, new sim card data.
Sure, I don't use the youtube algorithm. You could just use any alternative fronted like grayjay (unfortunately made by this guy above) or newpipe. Then you don't fall prey to the algorithm but rather have a feed based on your own subscriptions.
Let me blow your mind even more: I don't access the YouTube website at all, and therefore I never see their recommendations.
