How much electricity do you think that train network is wasting for all the displays run off Windows rather than a lightweight embedded Linux. Some tests I was watching recently showed the RaspberryPi5 used 6-9W at idle compared to 20-25W for the bare minimum Wintel system, and even a Pi5 is massively overkill for a train departure display. Do they run all the displays in the station off the same system, or is it 20W+ excess per display.

You're right ofc, but to be honest, Deutsche Bahn has bigger problems than how much energy their displays use xd
