Hello, I was doing some report federation tests again and found that reports from lemmy.world seemingly don't federate to sh.itjust.works. I created a test report around 1 hour ago on lemmy.world, and it's not visible from sh.itjust.works. Is this a known issue?

Yeah, it's a known issue that mod reports don't federate between instances well (if at all). It was recommended to me to make an alt account on lemmy world, give it mod privileges, and just check that account as often as you feel is necessary. It's kinda a pain in the ass, but it could be worse

I knew it was a problem on same instances but didn't know it also affected lemmy.world <-> sh.itjust.works. I've had issue with this in the past and have a large amount of alt accounts for this purpose. I've also created lemmy-know to automatically check reports from various accounts. There is a Docker image available if you're still looking for a way to avoid having to check them all manually.

reports currently go to community instance and the instance of the user that was reported, other than that there is no federation on the lemmy side currently.

That sounds awesome. However, I only have one alt account and I moderate a single community where 90% of the posts are made by me. I don't think I would get much use out of lemmy-know or the Docker image. I'll be sure to keep those in mind though if I see any one else having these issues
