Everytime I go back to IRC every channel is either dead, or one guy is there to yell at you for chatting 'wrong'. I wish it was as good as it used to be

Many of the channels on programming languages and the like on libera.chat have several hundreds of users and one gets helpful responses quite quickly, is my experience. Though it's true of course that it's less populated than it used to be.

I legit think all irc servers need this as a warning at this point. The etiquette can be so confusing for certain channels. Most do have everything ya need the in the welcome banner, but ime, the biggest irc fans are also consistently the last to receive newcomers warmly.
