MODERATORS
As a server I used to do this all the time. If I got a vibe like "we're all here to have a good time together" and I had some slack to chit chat, I'd take a seat., Or "we're really going to need some help ordering", then I'd sit down and turn the ordering into a collaboration.
This was a brew pub with 40 taps, so it was casual, and for some folks just picking a beer was a journey.
