Ah I see the misunderstanding. Government pivoting is the problem.
NIH blood cancer research was defunded few months ago while around same time government announced they will be building 500-billion datacenters for LLMs.
"If LLM becomes AGI we won't need the image-recognition linear algebra knowledge anymore, obviously."
Researchers are still the good and appreciated no matter what annoying company is deploying their work.
