obviously not exactly a new movie, and idk if i would wholeheartedly recommend watching it, but if you're okay with seeing the implied killing of a horse and explicit death of a person, i think you should, before you read the rest

oh before i start, i watched the movie because of the "movies vs capitalism" podcast, highly recommended, they recently had an episode about it, i haven't actually listened to it yet, i have thoughts to express and they won't listen to me anyways :)

SPOILERS AHEAD

spoileram i reading this correctly, the creators say that women are these beautiful creatures, like horses, that can become so damaged, that they are better off dead?
i was nodding along most of the way, oh yeah, poor people doing crazy stuff for food and temporary shelter, show guy being a dick, exploiting them as much as he can, and then he says he's being fair
and people watching, throwing pennies, surprisingly, pretty relevant to recent years' reality tv and streaming obsession
and then, oh she has a gun, who will they kill i wonder ... herself?? what??? he's just watching, she can't do it, so he does it ?????? and i feel like we're being told that was the right call

also, i thought a 1000+ hour dance marathon was a crazy exaggeration, but based on a quick search, there were longer ones irl, before they were banned, rightfully
