If anybody knows what phones tracfone has that are rootable. The walmart i get phones from ive only seen are tracfone
Do you use a physical SIM? I'm fairly sure any carrier-unlocked phone will also work with your Tracfone service if you move the SIM over. You'll need to find a way unlock the bootloader before rooting, uninstalling system apps, or installing any custom ROM. That will be difficult with retail Tracfone phones since they are decently locked down.
If you're on a budget too small for a Google Pixel, I'd suggest looking at the LineageOS compatibility list and finding a carrier-unlocked unit you like. If for some reason you must use a phone you can buy from Walmart, take a look at Universal Android Debloater to disable some of the pre-installed bloat and the Rethink DNS firewall to block internet traffic to the stuff you can't remove.
not if you're using a chinese branded phone
O i just saw the part about chinese branded ill make sure to check the brands deeper. Im also thinking tablets might be easier to root ill stick to wifi based communications. I'll use the tracfone for a hotspot and use the tablet as the main device
TracFone has a phone number you can use to see if your device is supported based on is imea.
It said mine was supported. Lol
By supported do you mean can be rooted or carrier unlocked?
It's whether or not it gets a signal
Awesome where do i find the number? ill look at what the store has in stock then check those out to find which to get
I do use a physical sim. And currently using a samsung galaxy a15. but im in a assisted living kind of place so funds and stores are abit limited but thank you ill do some searching it seems now pretty likely i over looked some things i appreciate your help
