I mean...we do have this Stellantis case going on. While not the same kind of scenario, but they better have something in place to ensure they don't just "run away" if it's a non-Canadian own firm.

On the other hand, it's appalling how every single government project seems to be always over budget, underdelivered and/or delayed. Then when I go look at the big government projects that's around the world, compare to what we got, I always feel like we got scammed.

If our governments always choose the lowest bidder who fills out the RFP with right words, we're always going to get lowballers who change request the project into oblivion. And then if the management style focuses more on making sure people are in the office (so nearby crony businesses can optimize their profits, and incompetent managers can think they're in control) instead of focusing on streamlining and effectively running the delivery processes, it is inevitable projects will be late, incorrect, and over budget.

I know right? It's like as if we have no semblance of control with politicians at the helm. OR I think it's just that people that are making the decisions of who the contracts go to have no knowledge nor are they qualified to actually make the call.
