I wonder if the shinigami eyes lets you see who is trans, like is their eventually chosen name above their head before they know? Or does the change of legal name form need to be signed in triplicate before it switches?
Well the name shown is the name you’d use to kill them, so if that were the case, it would imply that using their given name wouldn’t work.
If that was the case, it seems likely that Light would have killed enough people to have attempted to killed some eggs, in which event, he probably would have noticed that there are certain people he couldn’t kill and would have freaked out about it.
the lady that was investigating light yagami gave a fake name, and he was able to kill her by getting her real name eventually, so i would assume even if transitioned and changed the name, the birth name would kill you.
The eyes also show someone's time of death, which implies foresight, meaning it's likely the name they end up dying with, which could change if the time was extended, but that very famously kills any shinigami who makes that happen.
probably the birth name, even if you transitioned, its not like you changed the biological sex.(as in chromsones to x and y)
