As I explained, I'm stressed out by my fellow countrymen ignoring the dangers and traveling to the Untied States, where Canadian tourists are getting detained.
And you're extremely ignorant to think its only illegal immigrants who are in danger.
there is no danger. if you think Trump is going to take over Canada... i worry for your mental health.
Trump does nothing but posture. he's a blowhard and most everything he does is fake and false and poorly executed.
but the media/social media lives by the outrage his comments cause, and so does he. you are just feeding the beast, so to speak.
some people are getting the book thrown at them. it sucks. it's not magically different than when biden was president either, he just throw the book at different types of people.
Stephen Miller and Pete Hegseth on the other hand...
Nothing gets better and it haven't been getting better for a long time. I've watching every warning about the rise of fascism get ignored since Bush II and everything bad that could be happening, is happening.

Personally I think people want fascism, especially the extreme left and right. Even if they say they don't, they tacit cheer it on because they feel like it will give them the morally black and white world they so desperately crave and they can go sacrifice themselves for the noble cause and their life would have meaning or something.
I don't see anyone really promoting the old democratic values of the free world much anymore, and often if they do they get labeled a conservative.
Personally, I think you're just trying to be an edgelord centrist. Maybe go outside more often.
I didn't say I thought he would take over Canada. I said I'm annoyed that my grandmother thinks it's funny to tell me he will and that I'm stressed by people willingly travelling to the states where I believe they could be in danger as non-americans visiting the states. Perhaps you're confused that I care what happens to other people besides myself.
I do think Canada needs to take the threat seriously

why are you so stressed about what other people are doing? are you traveling to america? no, how is it relevant than?
What do you propose Canada do exactly? Ban all travel to the USA for the sake of a subgroup of citizens that may have difficulty doing so?
I'm not suggesting the government do anything. I'm suggesting Canadians stop traveling to the Untied States. Many of whom have.
I mean yeah that first point is fine. and totally true, they have and more power to them.
your second however... do you realize that like the vermont national guard could take over your country? The canadian military is decades out of date in terms of equipment and training. I agree with you though that your government desperately needs to upgrade and increase it's military spending, especially as it's likely Russian will try to steal your arctic claims in the next 20-30 years.
