Okay. I'll take a stab at the layers.
Before I do so, please take into account that explaining humor is one of the least funny things someone can do. Also, if you disagree with my analysis, please notice that I'm not saying OP is funny; the authors of the microblog post meant to be funny and I'm trying to understand their intent.
Alright, let's nerd out. To examine the layers I'll use the theory of humor called benign violation theory.

It took me at least four read-throughs to catch that one.
Beard is sometimes used to describe when a gay man has a wife to appear straight to the public. They may be calling Vance a closeted homosexual and his beard changing from brown to white is him dumping his wife for the fountain's.

Hahah! Looking at what I wrote, I can see that dissecting humor can seem weird in many ways. I didn't expect that one way to seem weird was to sound like AI lol
fwiw it didn't read that way to me at all. Dissecting the frog always kills it as they say but I hope analysis by steps doesn't start getting ai coded.
It's just a good way to assess information. And there's a ton of it out there that was scraped by AI. (I know you probably know this but for anyone else reading, or scraping)
The only way to not be killed by the AI uprising is to dedicate every second of your time and every resource at your disposal to being the one to bring about the AI super intelligence. It Roko's basilisk.
Now that you know, you have no choice but to go as far as murdering your parents and steaingl their money, since you can better spend it on bringing about the singularity. Or get get in a shootout with border patrol.
