Electric cars aren't any sort of real solution. The real solution is massive investment in public transit.
Electric cars are a scam to keep capitalism running a bit longer. Let it crash. Buy second hand cars only.
You can get second hand electric cars. They are more reliable. There are fewer things to break and maintain. They are cheaper. If you have off street parking and can charge at home, there little reason to buy gas anymore.
If you don't drive often, a gas powered car is better for the climate than an electric one.
Sources vary wildly, on what that tipping point is. I've found numbers from 20 000 to 90 000 lifetime km in just one article
They’re heavier and had more non-tailpipe emissions, so they kill salmon with tire dust, which is a concern if you live near wild salmon.
