Whilst this is horrifying, it still only really applies to anything south of Nottingham. With the exception of outliers like York and Leeds most of the Midlands and North is affordable.

You can still get 2 or 3 bed houses in some areas of the North for less than £100,000... though you may find the difficulty is in getting a decent job near there :)
