"Yo dawg, we heard Canadians had significant concerns about AI trust, transparency, privacy issues, and data sovereignty, so we fed your feedback without your permission into a bunch of commercial LLMs created by foreign tech oligarchs so we could figure out why you are so concerned about AI trust, transparency, data issues, and data sovereignty..."
JFC — the inmates really are running the fucking asylum..
Ironic.
Why does it not occur to the overconfident goons reflexively hitting "report" that the reason AI uses em dashes so frequently is because SO DID THE ACTUAL HUMANS they stole their shit from?? Alt+0151 motherfuckers, it's not that deep 🙄
It's actually a bot embedded in the PieFed server code that automatically reports em-dashes from new accounts. I wish it was easier for us admins to mark users as not AI so that we didn't all have to check manually every time. Might be worth complaining at !piefed_meta@piefed.social if you don't like the bot. I'm kinda neutral on the bot but I wanted you to be aware it was flagging you in case some other PieFed admins trust it too much.
Also welcome to Lemmy!
I’m sure it’s more some recency bias and me just never looking for it until the em dash became an ai hot topic but I feel like the reason it comes off as potentially ai despite so many people talking about how often they used it before the ai debate is just that the average user does not ever use them.
I sure never have. Not saying that it wasn’t often used, but by and large the average person online did not use them nor ever know they were a thing before they started being used by ai.
