TLDR: As Henry Cavill is leaving after season 3, these are the billboards Netflix has placed around the UK declaring, pathetically, that “Yes, he’s still Geralt in Season 3”. This is not a joke. This is real. The Witcher Twitter account is tweeting it.

Why are they even doing the show if they hate the source material so much? I mean, I know the answer is money but it just seems odd to even take on the project if you don't like the story.

Honestly my thought on that is they had a story they wanted to write but felt they needed to use a popular IP as a 'wrapper' to get attention.

They never wanted to tell the Witcher story. They just wanted the viewership from the fans.

I just finished The Last Wish and Yen is the worst. The only time you see her is when they first meet. All she does is act like a petulant child with an unimaginable amount of power. Idk what Garalt saw in her. While he was pretty decent to her, she mind controlled him into beating up some people that she had a petty grudge with, sending him to prison. Then, when Garalt is like “hey, dont do this, its really stupid and will get you killed” she attacks him. I like her in the same way i like a well written villain.

Idk maybe she gets nicer in the next books…

Without spoiling too much, their relationship does get more stable........but up until that point they are both absolutely terrible to each other. Revenge-fucking other people, and picking specific people to twist the dagger a little more. At one point Yen's insecurities go to 11/10 and she gets jealous of Ciri thinking Geralt...idk it doesn't say so but the only conclusion you can draw from her jealousy is that she thinks he's grooming her.

There are points later that she starts saving his life entirely out of love, but man getting to that point is like watching a messy co-dependent trashy and petty relationship with alcohol, abuse, gaslighting, just all kinds of fucked up shit on both sides. I came to the conclusion that they deserve each other, in a bad way.

Oh no, after the first book i have Garalt on his own little pedestal. Well, i am ready to be hurt.

Lol, I still love Geralt, it's more like "put yourself in his shoes" sort of thing, and the ugly truth is that we would all do stupid shit given the stress or situations to react to like that. It's real easy to sit back and say someone made a poor choice, but if you're the one someone says made a bad choice it's a bit tougher. I honestly can't say I'd just do the right things. Given what he's been up against, he can still be on that pedestal for me. Why he even wants to stick with Yennefer may have just been that stupid wish he made, that he doesn't even know he would ever want un-done later on. It explains a lot of behavior men have with terrible women (and gives some parallels for women in terrible relationships).

People do dumb shit, look at Will Smith.
