This fucking asshole is sitting by while Israel literally deletes whole Lebanese villages off the map. I hope the Lebanese people can overthrow and execute their president.

[-] CannonFodder@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago

Ah more death and destruction - good idea.

[-] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago

The death and destruction is ongoing, and will continue until someone stops Israel.

[-] CannonFodder@lemmy.world -2 points 3 weeks ago

So kill the president of Lebanon?

[-] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

He certainly deserves death for collaborating with genocidal invaders.

[-] CannonFodder@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago

Lebanon has wanted to be rid of Hezbollah for a long time.

[-] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

I'm sure the compradors there would love it.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

Israel as the settler colonial power is the only one responsible for death and destruction

The government of Lebanon told Hezbollah to avoid any war.

On october 8th, Hezbollah congratulated Hamas and they started firing rockets on northern Israel. They publically bragged about it. They told the Lebanese government "Go fuck yourselves"

This triggered an absolutely devastating war

And you are blaming the President of Lebanon now?!!! Your hypocrisy is staggering

lemmy.ml

Oh, everything is clear now

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

And everyone knows that the conflict between Hezbollah/Lebanon and Israel began on October 7th!

Nothing happened before that so don't look it up.

[-] CannonFodder@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago

It was relatively peaceful on the Lebanon/Israel border at that time. Of course there was history, there always is.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

when did Israel abondonned the plan to make greater Israel which include Lebanon?

[-] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I'm sure some Israelis want to expand into Lebanon. And they were gifted a great excuse with Hezbollah attacking them in Oct. Certainly it doesn't justify Israel's actions, not even close. But it did trigger it.

[-] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

"Avoid any war" meaning "do not attempt to defend yourselves or others".

[-] Ferrous@lemmy.ml 0 points 3 weeks ago

Hezbollah [...] started firing rockets on northern Israel

This triggered an absolutely devastating war

Zionist logic. Hezbollah didnt start this war.

Did you not even read what you posted?

In October 2023, Hezbollah launched a rocket campaign on Israel in support of Gaza, which was being bombarded by Israel following a Hamas-led surprise attack on Israel that saw 1,139 people killed and some 250 taken captive. Israel returned fire.

[-] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

It's almost like the 2nd link went into to more detail

[-] Ferrous@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago

History didnt start on Oct 8.

[-] Valuy@lemmy.zip -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Yeah. I happen to know that.

Gaza went through several devastating wars.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

Shabaa farms is not israelis

[-] tocopherol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

The war didn't start when Hamas attacked, thousands had been killed and imprisoned up to this point. And even if it did start then, Hamas has a right to defend the sovereignty of Palestine, and Hezbollah has a right to assist in the fight against an active genocide on their borders.

[-] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago

If my two dip shit neighbors start fighting, and I decide to throw a rock at one of them, I might not have started the fight, but I certainly stuck my nose in it and don't get to cry fowl when the neighbor I hit starts fighting me too.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

If my two dip shit neighbors start fighting

You call Palestine a dip shit neighbor? You are the dip shit

I decide to throw a rock at one of them, I might not have started the fight, but I certainly stuck my nose in it and don’t get to cry fowl when the neighbor I hit starts fighting me too.

Israel is threatening the whole middle east with i's greater Israel project. Just like europe, it is not waiting for Russia to finish off Ukraine to deal with the russian threat

[-] tocopherol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 3 weeks ago

Who is crying foul? The people of Lebanon support Hezbollah, their government undermines their legitimate defense in the interest of catering to foreign powers and protecting themselves. The Zionists have attacked Lebanon for decades and have made it no secret they intend to annex parts of southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has proven capable of resisting the Zionist invasion attempting to take their lands, would you rather they sit on their weapons and do nothing while they watch innocent people be slaughtered by the thousands?

People talk about what they would do if they were alive when the Nazis were commiting their genocide, should we not encourage every group like Hezbollah to fight with all they can to stop these atrocities that we can all clearly see?

[-] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

You can say they are justified, that's fine. You are more than welcome to hold that belief, hell I believe it myself.

That doesn't change the situation. They may not have started the fight, but they certainly turned themselves into a target by their own actions.

[-] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The situation is Israel will never stop it's ethnic cleansing and Dahiya doctrine campaigns, no one is buying your hasbara bullshit

[-] Valnao@sh.itjust.works -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The Zionists have attacked Lebanon for decades

Actually, the border was largely peaceful until the 1969 Cairo Agreement.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo_Agreement_(1969)

This agreement allowed Palestinians to bring weapons to Lebanon. Then the Israelis started getting massacred non-stop

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avivim_school_bus_bombing

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiryat_Shmona_massacre

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coastal_road_massacre

48 hours after the Coastal Road Massacre, they invaded South Lebanon.

[-] filister@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Can you tell me the number of casualties on both sides. Let's take kids for example. And then tell me who is massacring who exactly.

It never ceases to amaze me how you can still claim you are the victim when numbers tell a completely different story.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

Israel logged over 35,000 violations of Resolution 1701 between 2006 and early 2024 and over 10,000 Israeli air and ground violations in the single year following 2024 ceasefire

[-] Valuy@lemmy.zip -2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The war didn’t start when Hamas attacked.

Actually, it did. A conflict and a war are not the same thing.

Hezbollah has a right to assist

Well, the Lebanese Government disagrees.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

It is not a conflict, it is colonization which is a constant war
