I checked that on google maps, that's about 1,400 feet (425 meters) to drive up that ramp

I am genuinely impressed and shocked at that distance

From what I've read of similar incidents in Brussels, a person unfamiliar with the area underestimates the length of the right-of-way and keeps driving in hopes they can get off soon. But the right-of-way keeps going and by this point they've driven too deep in to reverse, and then they give up.
