I need to figure out a way to get my one year old to differentiate between “put it away” and “throw it away” (lemm.ee)

We went through this. We changed to “put it away/back” and “put it in the trash can”

At the moment “put it away” means the trash can too. She’s just excited she learned how to open the lid. A quick redirection and she’ll put it away in the correct spot.

get a storage box with a lid for her to put stuff in you want to put away.

She’s really good at putting stuff away - she helped me out like 6 books on the bookshelf the other day, and she’ll put her toys in her toy box. She heard me say I was going to put her milk away in the fridge, so she grabbed it and went to put it in the trash. I grabbed it and then she helped me put it away the right way. Just a silly misunderstanding between us
