Napadaan ako sa kabila and it's shocking how matapobre posts are normalized.
Since when sinasabi ng mga mahihirap na "diskarte" that's why they steal manhole covers, streetlamp bulbs, ATM trash cans, and anything they could get their hands on to sell? They do that to survive. Hindi rin yan mareresolba ng "disiplina". Baka "dilihensiya" word na hinahanap nyo?
As always, the most sensible reply, gets downvotes. 😂
On a related note, may thread din asking why wala na tao tumutulong masyado ngayon unlike a few years ago nung may mga community pantry, sending goods via Grab to far flung areas, and so on. Kasi daw yung mga tinulungan na yun ended up voting for BBM. How the fuck can you tell that? And akala ko ba radical na pagmamahal? Dahil di nanalo manok mo, lumabas tunay na kulay mo? I kenat.
Kinda surprised the "disiplina" angle is getting popular again. It's exactly that kind of thinking that got duterte elected.
I'm not even sure how that factors into the conversation. Hindi naman pwede ikaw magbuhos pagkagamit mo ng urinal stalls because 1) you literally need a liter of water to wash it away decently, something you wouldn't be carrying in your person at all as a commuter, and 2) the infrastructure was poorly conceived in the first place kasi sa gutter lang babagsak ihi.
Disiplina in the sense na tiisin mo until makahanap ka ng restroom? Not many people have that luxury, particularly drivers who can't stop or those with incontinence.
It's kind of sad because now that I think about it, there's always a segment of the population who blame everything on the lack of discipline:
Traffic: Wala kasing disiplina ang jeepney driver while ignoring that the boundary system incentivizes breaking the law
Covid: Lagi silang lumalabas kahit may lockdown, wala talagang disiplina ang tao while ignoring that the alternative was starving.
Now it's this. I usually countered the whole disiplina lang ang kailangan narrative back in reddit, looks like it's getting worse since it's not even related to the problem anymore.
Most sensible replies/posts there are getting downvotes. It's like one of my interesting, perplexing Philippine mysteries I want to solve, e.g. electing Robin Padilla as senator. lol
