I'll agree that Community hasn't had a single good episode in the last 8 years, but before that it was great.
I tried the first episode and the attempts at comedy were not great
Historically the pilot episode is always the golden standard of a show, of course. In fact you really only need to see the cold open of any pilot and you'll fully understand everything that the show will be about.
But pilots have always been the worst episodes of most shows?
I think your sarcasm detector broke.
I mean, the pilot is one of the weaker episodes in the series. They hadn't quite figured out what they wanted to do with the characters.
It's still a sitcom at its core. If you don't like sitcoms, you won't like Community most likely.
