I'm nearing the end of Act 2, and I just figured out that I can unlock alchemy recipes by right-clicking base ingredients to make their extracts. (lemmy.ca)

All this time, I've been hauling around the Sword Coast seed bank, wondering when I'll get to use this stuff.

It can be a bit dodgy. Warg Fangs in particular are bad about unlocking their extract. I've had two playthroughs that necessitated manual extraction to unlock the recipe as even extract all wasn't picking them up.
