This is great news. Anyone with Brazilian connections want to comment on whether this is because of Lula? I'm inclined to think so but I don't live there.
Short answer, yes. Long answer would be mostly due to the environment minister not being the one nicknamed "Mr. Chainsaw", and instead is one of the most respected and accomplished environmentalists in the world.
I was going to ask if the appointments are based on the elected government/party for further elaboration, but thought that would be lazy so did a bit of research.
