Hi everyone, I am looking for a smartwatch that offers continuous monitoring of my heart rate and preferably other vitals (Blood oxygen, blood pressure) as well.

I have been looking at the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, but I cannot find if it offers continuous monitoring functionality.

Can anyone give some insight, or maybe share their experience with a smartwatch that offers this functionality.

Hi, gw4 owner here. HR can be monitored 24/7 and you can setup notifications if it crosses a threshold during 10 mins while you are resting.

Oxygen - manually or automatically during sleeping, no notification - you must check results yourself

BP - manually only, requires Samsung phone, does not work in the US yet (latter 2 can be workarounded

ECG - manually only, requires Samsung phone (latter 2 can be workarounded. With wearos 4 monitoring of irregular hear beat will be added

Stress (based on HRV) - can be monitored permantly, no notifications

Resting HR - is recorded, if HR is monitored.

VO2 can be estimated for outdoor walking, running, cycling (not sure)

Btw, resting HR and VO2max are most important fitness metrics.

All said above is relevant for gw5 pro. Probably, gw6 which will be announced in the end of the month will can more.

I'm not aware of any wearos watches which can more. Accuracy is a holy war topic, where many individual person paramers play a role.

you are welcome for more questions like that to !galaxywatch@feddit.de
