This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.
Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

Largest anomaly SO FAR!
The numbers continue to get bigger from this point onwards. Relentlessly. Scientists from a 100 years ago, and 50 years ago, and 20 years ago, and 5 years ago, and last year... WERE NOT JOKING. A real shame we let capitalism destroy the planet.
Who's "we?" I was born into "It's up to you to fix the planet."
Yeah - there may have been some misinformation here and there. Let me clear that up if I may. We are counting on you to fix the planet.
Oof, I wonder if I can fob it off on gen-z...
Not at all what I meant. We're hearing now that everything climate is 'boomer' related. While that's disingenuous, all I did was extrapolate that if boomers created it then latter generations will need to fix it because obviously the boomers aren't going to undo what they did.
Besides, all you've done is reiterate that the latter generations need someone else to fix the problems they face... not going to happen.
