Such extensions exist already. ~~Privacy Redirect~~ (see reply) lets you choose where to redirect YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, Google Translate, Google Maps etc. links. c:

privacy redirect isnt maintained anymore you can use libredirect instead it's a fork of privacy redirect
