I use lemmy pretty much exclusively on mobile, so I didn't see the rule list when I was posting there. If I did I wouldn't have bothered posting. To be honest it's a stupid rule anyway. Any post that doesn't support the echo chamber is immediate trolling and grounds for a ban? Stupid.
Keeping in mind I didn't see the rules, I didn't think it would be an issue to have a discussion about that specific instance and point out that it may not be the best example of what the sub is for. That's why I found the body cam, watched it, and pointed out the specific time stamps that supported the article that was posted, and went against what the person I was talking with was saying. That same person who, it turns out, is also the mod that banned me. Yeah, I got snarky, but it was only on response to the snark that was directed at me first. And the ban happened after I posted the video proving the points that I was making.
