Your home server might honor post deletion requests, but other servers are under no such obligation.
Always remember Murphy's Law of the internet: once you post something, it's public forever (unless you need to find it years later, then all copies will have been accidentally lost).
That's really stupid. Propagating deletions through the network should be baked into the protocol.
By default that's what ActivityPub does, but instance administrators can configure their servers to handle deletions differently or not at all.
