The marketplace of ideas is not, in fact, a place where you go and spend money to buy or sell ideas. It involves attacking one another's ideas.

That was a statement of fact. I suggest you do some research into a thing called "discourse"
What are your objective standards for "shittiness", your arguments for the judgement to not be subjective?
