I've never heard someone use curve in this way, and I've been on the internet for quite a while.

Which is fine. That doesn't mean one or the other (curve vs curb) is more correct, English is a living language and as such constantly changes.

Edit: I'd also like to re-emphasize that the internet is not homogeneous.

If that makes you feel better about yourself, I guess? This is much more akin to "flick off" vs "flip off" with regards to the gesture of sticking up your middle finger at someone as an insult. There is no right or wrong as both are widely used and understood to mean the same thing.
