I've been diving headfirst into the world of short story magazines and found some absolute gems!!

Khoreo Magazine has been my absolute favourite so far! I 100% recommend it. Diaspora-focused speculative fiction, usually with very novel story telling techniques and beautiful artwork.

Clarkesworld I've found to be pretty hit and miss, though the hits make it worth it! Some really great new and established authors with vivid sci-fi stories.

CRAFT has been great for a more literary and CNF bent.

Do you subscribe to any creative magazines? If so, which ones? If not, why not?

Nearly all are digital now, but they're the successors to the old pulp magazines. I think Locus is still a print magazine, though :)

CNF = Creative Non-Fiction

Ah neat! Is it like a monthly subscription sorta deal?

I'll definitely check out some of the ones you mentioned. Diaspora speculative fiction sounds like a very specific genre!

Sometimes monthly, sometimes quarterly, sometimes bi-annually. Depends on the magazine.

People that have never felt at home anywhere tend to write from a very different perspective (the BoJack episode where Diane goes to Vietnam comes to mind) so I really recommend it (even though my family seem to have stuck completely to about a 50 square mile radius in south England for 600 years until I came along and moved overseas).
