If you call yourself a Christian, you implicitly lend credibility to everyone that calls themselves a Christian.
Unless they're actively calling out the bigots as non-christians?
If you call yourself a Christian, and you're a Catholic, are you also lending credibility to Mormons, Episcopalians, Southern Baptists, Presbyterians, and Branch Davidians?
Yes, unless the person you're speaking to understands all that about you and the situation. It's about perception.
Mormons aren't Christian
The fuck they aren't. It's in the goddamned name.
They are literally tri-theist and believe that some guy was divinely revealed some book to him personally which claims Jesus went to America. Said books contradict the Bible and isn't proved by the archaeological record. They think the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all three gods as well. Muslims also believe in Jesus, doesn't make them Christian either.
Muslims do not believe in the divinity of Jesus. Mormons do.
But they think his dad came from some planet called kolob or whatever. Mormon theology is wild.
