I suspect this is occurring because everyone knows establishment media is dying and people are trying to get the nicest deck chair on the titanic.
It’s happening because inflation happens and things increase in price. If wages don’t keep pace, that raise is now a pay cut.
Yeah it was great getting my 3% cost of living bump this year while inflation was 7%. Basically got a pay cut by working here.
I’ve been vocal about our union tying our wage increases directly to inflation (or making them AT LEAST follow inflation). Some members (that also happen to own multiple houses) say that’s a “dumb idea”. 🤷🏻♂️
Gotta love people pulling the ladder up behind them
If that's all it was, then they'd be able to pop out a pay increase and end things. There's a lot of other stuff on the table.
